Electric Function, Inc. is looking to contract a PHP developer and support technician to add to our small 2-person team. This position is a part-time telecommuting position open to web freelancers or contract web developers who are looking to add $2500 to $6250 per month to their income by playing a key role in a small but growing web software business!
Your main activities will be:

Learning about our software (all built on CodeIgniter).

Hero Framework - CMS, web framework built on CodeIgniter

Membrr - subscription billing for ExpressionEngine

OpenGateway - multi-gateway billing server and API
-
EE Donations - donation plugin for ExpressionEngine

Supporting licensees of our software products (billing and CMS products written in PHP).

Answering sales/support questions

Referring users to our extensive knowledgebase, creating new KB articles.

Debugging PHP issues on the users' servers, when necessary.

Managing licenses (e.g., adding/removing domains from a license).
-
Taking on custom development projects for clients.

Quoting projects.
-
Performing the custom work on time and to high code and usability standards.

Following up with changes and tweaks where necessary.

Communicating

Updating the internal project tracker.
-
Keeping clients informed of custom project statuses.
-
Responding promptly to emails during the workday.
Compensation
Developers are compensated based on a profit sharing arrangement that compensates for support time (which varies from week to week) and for the custom work taken on.
It is expected that you will earn $35,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on the amount of work you can take on.

You will track your own time and submit a time sheet every 2 weeks.

There will be 15 hours of paid training before you begin.
Requirements
In order to fill this role, you must:

Be an end-to-end web developer with experience and skill in HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, simple Apache server configuration (e.g., how to use .htaccess).

Have used the CodeIgniter PHP framework in multiple previous projects.

Have experience with clients and project management.

Speak English well, and speak professionally with clients at all times.

Have some sales experience.

Not have a full-time job (i.e., you are a freelancer or contract web developer).

Be a strong, independent worker!
